Crack the Interview Code

Program Overview

“The goal of an interview is to get you a job offer or at least another interview. If you handle the interview well you will show the employer that, in addition to your outstanding technical qualifications and background, you are a good communicator, an organized, prepared, and logical thinker, and someone who would add value to the organization.”
– Peter Fiske, Put Your Science to Work

An interview is a crucial part of the job application process. Doing a little research and preparing yourselves before the interview can make a big difference. Most people ready to interview for a job worry about putting together a good resume and wondering how they will do in an interview. However, one of the most important aspects of being successful in interviews is how employers view your personal traits and skills.

When an employer interviews a job candidate, the employer not only focuses on the resume and your skills and talents, but also all of the personal characteristics you bring to the interview:

  • Your perceived personality
  • Your dress and behavior
  • Your communication skills and
  • Perceived judgment and work ethic

When you prepare for an interview, it is therefore just as important to look at your “work image” as it is to write a resume. You need to examine how you will communicate your skills and talents, pay attention to what you will wear, remember to sit up straight and be confident in your communications. Nervousness in the interview can undo your interview. One’s confidence in oneself is the only way to deal with the nervousness.

TCG’s program on interviewing skills helps you to discover yourself and your strengths, to position these strengths with confidence and poise and finally, to Crack the Interview Code and get that job you want! Remember that you need to be viewed as “put together” with a good personality, good communication skills, and good work ethic and we will help you to do just that…
